Matas Jakubauskas, MD

In 2018 I have graduated Vilnius University, Faculty of Medicine with Magna cum Laude.

Now I‘m a junior trainee at the Vilnius University Hospital Santaros klinikos Center of Abdominal surgery. For several years I’ve been interested in surgical research and large cohort studies. I’m an active member at the EuroSurg student/trainee network representing Lithuania, just recently we finished our IMAGINE trial, the results publications are on the way.

Velizar Hadzhiminev, MD

I am a last year resident surgeon in Clinic of thoracic and abdominal surgery of University Hospital "Sveti Georgi" Plovdiv, Bulgaria (part of Medical University - Plovdiv).

I took part in several surgical courses and fellowships in Austria, Germany, including 1st Surgical Skills Course in 2016 in Kaunas, Lithuania. I am working in one of the biggest surgical departments in my country.

I am interested in GI-tract surgery, oncosurgery and emergency surgery.

I am an Undergraduate Medical Student in Health Science, possessing high level of cognitive skills and exposure to various treatment procedures in both urgent care and trauma surgeries in highly reputable hospitals. I have extensive experience in providing primary, secondary and tertiary care to a wide range of patients. Having assisted senior doctors in history-taking, physical examination and diagnostic procedures have enriched my skills in undertaking patient symptoms managing multiple cases and optimizing patient care. Since this summer I have attended above 30 surgeries and assisted in 8, which were In “Plastic and reconstructive surgery department” in Santaros klinikos, Lithuania.

I am a colorectal surgeon. I am working in benign field of coloproctology. My special interests are functional evacuation disorders. I am a certificated ultrasound specialist. I perform 3D US of lower rectum, anal canal and perineum. My two main topics of interest in coloproctology are surgery of complex fistula and the surgery of colon endometriosis.

I am a member of ESCP and Latvian coloproctology society.

Later in 2014 finished Residency of general surgery. PhD in Medicine in same university in 2016 on functional outcome following rectal cancer surgery.
